Update: I went ahead and installed one 32-bit Soundtoys plugin just for testing. We took a look at Soundtoys’ Tremolator in our latest Plugin of the Week – watch it above and make sure you subscribe to our YouTube channel for more tutorials and live events. With its arrays of features, Tremolator can create sounds far beyond the simple tremolo effect and is a very powerful tool for sound designers and producers. Soundtoys’ Tremolator is a perfect example of what a modern tremolo effect can do. Not only does it incorporate modelling from vintage pieces of equipment, it also provides a range of editing tools that allow the user to draw the actual shape of the modulation and sequence it for up to 32 bars. If the early analogue devices had limited parameters, mostly depth and speed, digital devices tend to offer more controls to shape your sounds. From the ’50s, many companies began to incorporate the effect into guitar amplifiers and electric pianos. The effect became a defining feature of some equipment such as the Vox AC30, Fender Vibrolux, Fender Rhodes and Wurlitzer A200, as well as the sound of surf music. The tremolo effect is a great way to add movement to a sound, from a subtle wavery feel to a full on pulsating groove. The first electronic tremolo effect for guitar was designed by DeArmond in the early ’40s. But with trash once you find something that works, it works well. The tremolo effect, sometimes wrongly named vibrato by musicians and even manufacturers, is the effect of modulating the amplitude of a sound. But you are 1000000% correct by saying it takes some tweaking. Which is why I mainly use elements distort or for multiband trash 2 can be easy. And iv found that distortion unit that is simple is what I like. I had the same thought, I have a wide selection. But you sound like you're pretty well sorted already Decapitator on the other hand is just a nice simple saturation unit, fast to work with, it has automatic gain compensation (why don't all distortion plugins have this?) and it sounds great. From the variety of plugins within the bundle to the amount of creative control you have over the sounds, to the unique sonic quality of the plugins, this bundle is worth the investment. I think of Trash2 as an experimental device, it's what I reach for when I want to get weird. Soundtoys 5 is absolutely worth all the hype it gets. I like Decapitator because of its simplicity, you can no doubt get the same results with something like Trash2 but it'll take you a lot of time & tweaking. Is decapatator worth getting if you already have trash2 devastor2 elements distort and RP distort? I have more distortion units but can't think of them at this moment, does it offer a different sound? 200 is a lot for a distortion unit I mean 100 is a little better but with all the distortion that I own I honestly find scream 4 to work the best maybe it's just because I'm use to it lolĭecapitator is a nice plugin but probably not necessary considering all the distortion firepower you already have. Got this question the other day: Whats your go-to vocal chain. So I know that i don't essentially need any of these effects I have the kiloheartz toolbox and most air raid audio effects, also I have trash 2 so my question is
